When I have to make something for the kids school function…my go to DESSERT is USUALLY BROWNIES!! I find that with brownies you can add some candies or sprinkle…and you can make it as festive as you like. Also…BROWNIES travel very well. I usually cut them into square pieces and place a piece of cupcake liner under…this makes it easy for the kids to just grab and go. NO MESS!! So far this HOLIDAY  I have made this dessert like 10 times!!

INGREDIENT

1 cup M&M’s chocolate candies (red and green)

1/2 cup  all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa powder

2/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2  cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

DIRECTION

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch square pan.

In a  sauce pan…melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat and let it cool down for a little bit and then stir in the sugar, eggs and vanilla extract. Next, beat in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Lastly, pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until set. DO NOT OVERCOOK!!! TAKE  the brownies out the oven and lay the M&M on top  of the brownies.    I don’t like to bake the M&M on the brownies because I don’t like the M&M to melt.

Let the brownies COOL completely….about 30 minutes. Taking a plastic knife and cut the brownies into little square pieces. ENJOY!!!!
