Ingredients:

1 lb pasta

Meat Sauce:

2 T olive oil

3 piece of Canadian bacon (chopped)

1 large onion (finely chopped)

1 medium carrot (finely chopped or grated)

1 stick celery (finely chopped)

3 cloves garlic (minced)

12oz ground beef

14 1/2 Oz can chopped tomatoes

2 Tablespoon tomato paste

1 beef bouillon powder or cube

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon light brown sugar

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish:

Parmesan cheese

Chopped Parsley

Directions:

Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook for a few minutes until it gets a light  brown color.  Then add in the chopped vegetables and cook until they are soft.

Add in the ground beef..breaking it as you go along. Cook for 10 minutes or until it’s brown all over.

Next, crush the beef bouillon in 1/2 cup hot water and stir until it’s incorporated. Then ADD IT to the meat mixture.

Add in the tomatoes, tomato paste, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, basil, salt and pepper. Put a lid on then simmer the sauce for 45-60 min. Remember to stir it occasionally. Remove the lid half way through…and keep it simmering.

The sauce will thicken as it cooks. So keep an eye on it..every stove and pot that you use can be different in the amount of time it takes.

Prepare your pasta according to the package.

***Season the Bolognese sauce according to taste. You might want to add more salt or pepper.

Serve the Bolognese sauce over the pasta and garnish with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy!!
