SPAGHETTI MEAT SAUCE in the INSTANT POT
Today was one of those day that I left at 7:20am and didn’t make it back home until 4:00 pm. I didn’t have to work today but I spent the whole day running errands. So, when I got home I forgot that I didn’t put my ground meat in the refrigerator to thaw…so I took out my instant pot and threw in my frozen GROUND meat and all my other ingredients…I set to manual for 6 minutes then I put it in saute mode…spaghetti was ready in LESS than 10 minutes. I love my INSTANT POT for days like today.
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs of lean ground meat (10/90 or 20/80)
3 links HOT Italian sausage
3 links Sweet Italian sausage
1 small white onion -diced
5 cloves minced garlic
2 bottle of Classico Sweet Basil Tomato Pasta sauce (24oz)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoon STARWBERRY JAM
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon of chicken powder (I add this in place of salt)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon butter
Other INGREDIENTS:
pasta –cook according to package
parmesan cheese
chopped parsley
red pepper flake
DIRECTION:
Remove the sausage casing from the 6 links…put that in the instant pot. Next, put the ground meat, 2 BOTTLE of sauce, butter, chopped onion and minced garlic. Then, add in the rest of the ingredients. Breaking up the sausages and ground meat….MIX WELL so all the ingredients are incorporated. Then, close the lid on the instant pot and press the MANUAL SETTING (making sure the valve is set in the correct position). Set the time to 6 minutes on high pressure. Allow 5 minutes natural release, and then turn valve to quick release (be careful of the STEAM). Be CAREFUL when opening the lid. Next, stir until everything is nicely incorporated. I turn on the saute mode for about another 5-10 minutes then I turn to warm mode and leave it until I am ready to serve.

This is the brand I used for my sausage

SIDE NOTE:
I don’t cook my pasta with the meat sauce. I like to cook my pasta separately.
My kids like their meat sauce a little sweet so if you don’t like the sweet taste…cut back on the brown sugar and strawberry jam.
