My kids FAVORITE pasta dish HAS to be the ALFREDO pasta!! I make this pasta dish at least once a week for them. Everytime I make it…I always add something different…sometimes I would add broccoli and chicken…or shrimp and peas or just have it plain and serve it with a piece of BAKE chicken. I think it is the easiest pasta dish to make. The main 2 ingredients is heavy cream and parmesan cheese and I ALWAYS have those 2 ingredients in my refrigerator. Many times I just wipe it up and serve it as a side dish for the kids. Whenever I do make this dish…I always DOUBLE the recipe because my kids love it and they can eat it for at least 2 days!!! It microwaves/warm up very well. Just make sure to cook the pasta AL DENTE 😉
INGREDIENTS:
Pasta of your choice( I always use the Sam’s choice Tagliatelle Egg Pasta)
2 lb shrimp peel and deveined
1/2 stick butter unsalted
1 tablespoon minced garlic
3 cup heavy cream
1 cup Parmesan cheese shredded
1/ 2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
GARNISH:
2 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
1 tablespoon chopped green onions
Parmesan cheese
DIRECTIONS:
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Remember to SALT the PASTA WATER REALLY WELL.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the peel shrimp and cook until it pink. Next, add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds or until fragrant.
Pour in the HEAVY cream. Stir consistently to avoid burning on the bottom of the pan until the mixture comes to a boil. Turn the heat down to medium LOW and mix in the parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to your own taste.
Remove the pan from the heat and mix in the cooked pasta until the sauce begins to thicken. Garnish with parsley and green onions and MORE PARMESAN CHEESE!!
***** I love to shave my parmesan cheese over the hot pasta!!
Thank you for sharing…. On the menu for next week…..yummy
