BBQ CHICKEN IN A CROCK POT
We had a BIG football game today but I had so many other things going on before the game so…I pop these babies into the crockpot early this morning and it was DONE by game time!!! You can do so much with this RECIPE. You can put these chicken in tacos, soft shell tacos or just mini buns. If you KNOW you are having a busy day coming up…put this recipe on your WEEKLY MENU. You will not be disappointed. This is also GREAT for parties because it MAKE TONS of FOOD!!!
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Ray is what I usually use)
1/4 cup Zesty Italian dressing
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon crack black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Garnish: chopped green onion
*** Serve with mini buns, soft shell taco or hard shell taco. Top with cole slaw.
DIRECTIONS:
Season chicken breast lightly (a small pinch per breast) with some sea salt, pepper, garlic powder and place in your CROCKPOT. What I did was ..I added all the season into a little bowl..and it makes it super easy to season the chicken.
In a mixing bowl combine BBQ sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well combined. Next, pour over the chicken breast and cover with lid.
Set the CROCK POT to high for 6 hours.
Once time is up ….shred the chicken breast with 2 forks. Once the chicken is shredded…cover with the lid and let the shredded chicken cook in sauce for about 10-15 more minutes. Serve with bread or on a tortilla. I served mine with some cole slaw on mini buns.

Right before I shredded the chicken.

Chicken all shredded

I served them on mini buns with cole slaw
