I bought a bread maker last Christmas but I haven’t even opened the box yet 🤫 I love the smell of homemade bread. When I used to worked for William Sonoma we used to make fresh bread every single day so the customer can try out the different oils that we were selling. They used to have these premade package that all we had to do was add oil and water. They used to come in different flavor like rosemary and herbs flavor. But the last time I came into the store…I haven’t seen it anymore. I guess they must have disconnected it. I have this buttery roll recipe that I have been using for so long…the sad thing is..I always forgot I have it…then when I do remember..I would MAKE IT for the next 3 weeks and then my kids would be so tired of it hahaha. These are perfect for HOLIDAYS…especially when you have TURKEY  or HAM because they are so delicious when you use them to make a NICE sandwich!!!

INGREDIENT:

2 Tablespoons Yeast

1/2 cup Warm Water

1 teaspoon Sugar

1/2 cup Butter softened

1/2 cup Sugar

3 Eggs

1 cup warm Whole Milk (I microwaved it for about 30 seconds)

5 cups All Purpose Flour (need some for when you are trying to roll it out)

2 teaspoons salt

Brush on top of rolls:

1/2 cup softened Butter (for the end when you are brushing over the top)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a small bowl, add yeast, warm water, and sugar and set aside to proof. Let the yeast bubble and foam for 10 minutes. Make sure you see it bubbling and foaming. If it’s  not then the yeast is NOT GOOD ANYMORE!!
  2. In a stand mixer …cream the butter and sugar for 1 minute. Add eggs and milk and mix for 2 more minutes. Add in proofed yeast mixture.
  3. ADD in flour and salt. Mix for a few minutes. Watch for the dough to start to come off the sides of the bowl. You might have to add a few more teaspoon of flour. I find that every time I make this recipe…it is alway DIFFERENT..I think it’s the time of year. Or maybe it’s the brand of milk or flour. Sometimes I would add 2 others I would add up to 4 teaspoon!!!
  4. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and set aside to rise in a warm place until double in size. I alway turn on my oven to 200 degrees then I turn it off once it reach 200 and I would  place the bowl to rise. Takes about 1-2hrs. I usually just leave the mixing bowl from my kitchen aid mixer. But remember to use an OVEN SAFE BOWL!!!
  5. Once the dough is doubled in size. Taking a little flour and sprinkle on your working surface. Roll into small balls, about 16 – 20 depending on size preference. Place the rolls  on greased baking sheet….try to place them as close together as possible. You want the rolls rise upward and not OUTWARD. Once you have all the rolls done ….spread with softened butter. Cover and place the baking pan in the warm oven for a 2nd RISE. Tools about 1hr….mine ONLY  took about 30 minutes. TAKE the baking sheet out of the OVEN. Then PREHEAT the  oven to 350 degrees.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the ROLLS are a nice GOLDEN  brown. The AMOUNT of time depends on your oven, horn BIG you made the rolls and the climate of where you live. Take the rolls out the oven and  BRISH them with some melted butter.
  7. Serve warm or store in air-tight container.
