Creamy Chocolate Frosting
This frosting is my go to frosting!! Its so easy to make and its creamy. I usually make a big batch and store in the refrigerator. When you are ready to use…let it sit at room temp for about 30 minutes…then using a hand held mixer…blend it a little before you use.
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
2 1/3 cups confectioners sugar (powder sugar)
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
In a large bowl beat the butter on medium speed until it is smooth, about 1 minute.
Add the confectioners’ sugar (powder sugar) and cocoa powder to the bowl and beat until combined. With the mixer running on low speed, slowly stream in the milk and vanilla extract then add the salt and continue beating until well combined, scraping down the sides. Beat until the frosting is nice and creamy about 2 minutes.
Increase the speed to high and beat the frosting for an additional 2 minutes. Frost the cake immediately…if you want to store the frosting..remember to store in an airtight container.
